Ibec is encouraged that the country is returning to business as usual and is asking businesses to show flexibility with their workforce to minimise pressures on commuting in areas that are still under pressure.
Ibec Director of Employer Relations, Maeve McElwee, said: “The knock-on impact of disruption from the weather is expected to continue into the start of this week. The priority is on getting business up and running again. There is likely to be difficulties in some areas with commuting to workplaces and businesses, where possible, should take account of local conditions to manage work schedules. Options around remote working, if appropriate, or staggered start times, may help to relieve pressure on the transportation systems as they get back up to full capacity.”
