Ibec Networks Travel,Leisure & Hospitality Meeting
The next Ibec Travel, Leisure & Hospitality Network meeting will take place on Wednesday 10th May at the Ibec offices in Dublin.
Ireland’s data protection rules are about to significantly change - the new General Data Protection Regulation will come into legal effect in May 2018. Anne Bateman of Philip Lee Solicitors will outline to members Ireland’s current data protection rules and the upcoming changes to the rules under the GDPR.
There will be a specific focus on how the new rules will affect the travel, leisure and hospitality sectors, including in terms of their use of customer information for marketing and other purposes. It will also provide recommendations of what your organisations should be doing now in order to ensure that you are “GDPR-ready” by May 2018.
Ciaran Loughran, IR/HR Executive Ibec, will provide a HR Update for the Travel, Leisure and Hospitality Sector on the morning, focusing on two important areas.
Firstly, Reasonable Accommodation - the Employment Acts and what is expected from employers, and also the Organisation of the Working Time Act 1997 in relation to Sunday Premium and the interpretation of reasonable.
The meeting will commence at 08.30am and conclude at 10.15am. Refreshments will be available on the morning.
